Great news for individuals dreaming of a future in Canada! As of 10 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on March 31, 2025, Canada’s Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots (HCWP) are officially accepting applications. These pilot programs provide a pathway to permanent residence (PR) for foreign nationals looking to contribute their skills in home care and child care roles.
Key Details About the HCWP Programs
This year, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will accept:
-
2,750 applications through the HCWP: Child Care Pilot
-
2,750 applications through the HCWP: Home Support Pilot
Of these, 140 spots in each pilot are reserved for out-of-status or unauthorized workers already in Canada. Once the annual cap is reached, no further applications will be accepted until the programs reopen in 2026.
The application window opening on March 31, 2025, is exclusively for the Workers in Canada stream. Stay tuned for updates on the application intake for the Applicants Not Working in Canada stream, which will open at a later date.
