IRCC Launches October with Targeted Express Entry Draw: 1,000 CEC Invitations Issued

 

 

In a promising kickoff to the fall immigration season, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 1,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to skilled workers under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) through the Express Entry system. This latest draw, held today, reaffirms Canada’s commitment to welcoming experienced professionals already contributing to its vibrant economy.

 

The draw targeted candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 534. To be eligible, applicants needed to have created their Express Entry profile before 4:01 a.m. Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on February 21, 2025. This high CRS threshold highlights IRCC’s focus on attracting top-tier talent with valuable Canadian work experience.

Today’s CEC draw marks the 10th of its kind this year and the third consecutive draw issuing 1,000 ITAs at a CRS score of 534. Since August, IRCC has maintained a predictable schedule, conducting one CEC draw per month to streamline processing and manage application volumes effectively.

 

The October draw follows a series of targeted Express Entry selections in September:

September 29: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw with 291 ITAs at a CRS score of 855.

– **September 18**: Trades occupation draw issuing 1,250 ITAs at a CRS score of 505.

– September 17: Education category draw with 2,500 ITAs at a CRS score of 462.

 

These category-based draws reflect IRCC’s strategic approach to addressing labor market needs in critical sectors like healthcare, education, social services, and skilled trades. So far in 2025, IRCC has issued an impressive 66,838 ITAs across all Express Entry streams, with a significant focus on PNP pathways and priority occupations.
